ABOUT US
We’re a group of creatives who seek to generate a positive impact in our ecosystem and create tools that help us accomplish this mission.

At the intersection between the slow movement and low-tech, Slow lab is a collective which wants to bring awareness and promote a resilient lifestyle.

We organize social events and create artefacts to open conversations around how to integrate ancient techniques into our present context.

We question and redesign the tools we use in our daily life to become less dependent on high-technology.

We started developing this project during our Master in Design for Emergent Futures at IAAC x FabLab BCN x Elisava

SOME

SLOW THINGS

Slow Plants
We develop skills about growing food in cities with hydroponics, giving value to organic waste with compost and developing botanic literacy.
Slow Food
We create artefacts to integrate ancient techniques of cooking, cooling and food preservation in our modern daily life using different tools like solar ovens, fireless cookers, dehydrators, evaporative cooler and fermentation methods.
Slow Travel
We find alternatives to the way we travel that are respectful of the environment and can help the ecosystem we visit regenerate.
Slow Energy
We experiment with alternatives to produce or harvest energy from solar panels to bike generators to power our everyday devices.
